About this place

Alara Han is a Seljuk caravanserai beside the Alara River in Çakallar. Its entrance inscription dates construction under Alaaddin Keykubad I to 1231–1232. The rectangular plan, thick stone walls and vaulted galleries reflect its role in accommodation and travel. Architectural details include the entrance courtyard, fountain iwan and lion-headed stone consoles. For visitors exploring historic routes around Alanya, it offers a different perspective on Seljuk heritage from the monuments along the coast.
