About this place
Süleymaniye Mosque is part of the historic buildings within Alanya Castle. It is also known as Alaaddin, Castle or Orta Hisar Mosque. Its origins are Seljuk; according to the municipality, it was rebuilt during Süleyman the Magnificent’s reign using older materials. A dome over the square main space, a portico with smaller domes, and stone and wood craftsmanship define its architecture. A nearby cistern recalls the castle settlement’s water system.
