About this place
Syedra is an archaeological site in Seki, southeast of Alanya. The Upper City on the hillside and Lower City towards the coast reveal both its defensive position and maritime connections. The colonnaded street, baths, cisterns and inscriptions offer insights into urban life, particularly during the Roman period. Buildings at different levels show how the settlement followed the terrain. Some mosaics and inscriptions from the site are displayed at Alanya Museum, making the two places complementary stops on a cultural itinerary.
